Desk research
Toyota Material Handling Europe already had clear sustainability ambitions and public reporting in place. The next question was more strategic: how do leading companies translate those ambitions into incentive structures for executives and employees?
That is not the kind of question most internal teams can answer quickly. It requires international benchmark data, the ability to compare different approaches and a format that works at board level rather than as a long research report.
The challenge
The organisation needed a clear and well-supported overview of how leading companies in Europe and beyond connect ESG and Net Zero targets to bonus and incentive models. The result had to be decision-ready and directly usable in a boardroom setting.
Blackbear's role
Blackbear helped define the assignment with precision. The scope stayed focused on a concise benchmark presentation for decision-makers, while broader HR implementation advice, interviews and legal guidance remained outside scope. From there, the work was structured around targeted desk research, comparative analysis and a final presentation built for senior stakeholders.
Result
Toyota Material Handling Europe received a presentation that could be used immediately with senior management and board members. It included case studies, benchmark percentages, comparisons between company approaches and recommendations that could be translated to the organisation’s own context.
