Do I need to live in the Netherlands to find jobs as a freelancer?
Blackbear is currently accessible to professionals residing in EU countries. You can sign up for free and explore our platform at any time. However, please note that the blackbear platform is not yet available to professionals outside the EU. Please subscribe to our waiting list during sign-up if you want to know when we'll be available in your area.

How does the rating system works?
It's simple. You either work at an hourly rate or at a fixed price. In the agreement between your client and you, it's clearly defined how many hours you need to make or what needs to be delivered.
The rating system ensures an objective measurement from 1.0 to 5.0 stars, representing the amount of hours that you've made or requirements you have delivered to your client.If you receive all 5.0 stars, you receive 100% of the amount to be earned.
If you receive 4.5 stars, you will receive 90% of the amount to be earned and so on.

How do I get selected for a job?
Once your profile is completely verified, you can start looking for suitable jobs. When you have found a job you like, that matches your rates, and way of working, you can apply and submit your proposal.
In your proposal you should well-thought answer the following questions:

What are your own ideas regarding the job to be done?
After sending your proposal, your profile and proposal will be reviewed by our team first, and following the hiring manager at the client.
All applicants will be notified if they are selected or rejected, with clear substantiation.

Do I have obligations when using Blackbear?
No, you can activate, deactivate, or delete your account as needed. Your only commitment is to finalize any active job you're working on.

How long does it take to get paid?
After submission, the client has 10 business days to review before we transfer your payment. You can choose either immediate payment (with a fee) or a standard payment (within 30 days, no fee).

How do I find relevant freelance jobs to work on?
We match freelance jobs to your expertise based on your profile and you can apply to jobs in our platform. You also receive notifications about new opportunities that open up to potential clients.

What is the typical job duration?
This differs. We offer short-term jobs, lasting a couple of weeks, and mid-term jobs that take up to 9 months. The timeframes are always specified upfront in the job description.

Can I work on multiple jobs simultaneously?
Yes, you’re free to work on several jobs as long as you can keep up. Just be aware, proper time management is essential when handling multiple jobs.

How is feedback handled if a client isn’t satisfied?
If a client isn't satisfied, we will mediate first. You always have the opportunity to adjust your work based on feedback provided by clients or the other way around.

Do I need to pay taxes or handle invoices myself?
While we handle the invoicing process and payments, you are responsible for declaring your earnings for tax purposes to the right authority at the right moment. We will help you whenever you need guidance here.
