DUERP with SMART prevention plan
SCOTT Automation is an international player in industrial automation with operational activities across multiple sites in France. Under French law, specifically the Code du Travail, every employer is required to maintain a Document Unique d'Evaluation des Risques Professionnels (DUERP): a structured inventory of all occupational risks present in the workplace.
Producing such a document is far more than an administrative formality. It requires detailed knowledge of French regulatory requirements, the ability to identify and quantify risks on site, and the communication skills to bring internal stakeholders along throughout the process.
The challenge
SCOTT Automation needed an external specialist to lead the full DUERP process, from risk workshops on site through to the delivery of an audit-ready document and an accompanying prevention plan. The specialist had to combine a strong command of the relevant legal frameworks with the ability to work practically alongside managers, HSE staff and employee representatives.
Blackbear's role
Blackbear sharpened the scope of the assignment and translated it into a precise profile: a professional with demonstrable knowledge of the Code du Travail and EU directives, hands on experience with probability times severity matrices and stakeholder facilitation, and the ability to train internal teams for independent follow up. The selection process focused specifically on someone with both technical depth and strong interpersonal skills, so that the client would be equipped to manage the document independently going forward. Clear agreements on scope, timeline and deliverables were put in place from the outset.
Result
A fully audit-ready DUERP was delivered, covering all operational sites and activities. The document includes a department by department risk inventory, an evaluation based on a probability times severity matrix, and a prevention plan with SMART indicators and assigned responsibilities. A dedicated knowledge transfer session ensured that internal teams are equipped to keep the document up to date independently.
