Smulders is an international metalworking company that works on complex steel structures. Due to growth and new locations, the need increased to transfer HR knowledge consistently and at scale. Training materials existed in scattered form, often as documents or presentations.

The challenge
Without structured digital training programs, knowledge transfer remained dependent on individual trainers and available capacity. This made onboarding new employees slow, led to inconsistency between locations, and limited the ability to roll out HR processes efficiently.

Role of Blackbear
Blackbear brought focus by translating the desire for 'a training program' into a concrete development trajectory of three e-learning modules with clear criteria for content, interactivity, and implementation. A specialist with experience in instructional design and e-learning tools was assigned to the project. The assignment was phased over five months with interim validation moments.

Result
Within five months, three interactive e-learning modules were delivered, validated by HR, and rolled out within the organization. The modules made knowledge transfer independent of trainers and locations, accelerated the onboarding process, and laid the foundation for further expansion of the digital learning offering.
