RH Marine is a leading provider of integrated maritime systems and installation services. On complex shipbuilding projects, project managers and engineers coordinate dozens of parallel installation streams, from cable connections to complete ship systems. Tracking progress at that level of detail required something more robust than a spreadsheet.
The challenge was not a lack of data, but a lack of overview: available information was fragmented and not readily actionable for steering decisions or client reporting.
The challenge
RH Marine needed a tool capable of dynamically visualising installation progress at room and system level, generating structured reports, and providing efficiency analysis with colour-coded status indicators, all connectable to existing data sources.
Blackbear's role
The brief was clear but called for a specialist with an uncommon combination of skills: technical development experience, a strong feel for data visualisation, and the ability to work independently from analysis through to delivery within a fixed-price structure. Blackbear refined the scope, defined clear deliverables per milestone, and matched the right professional to the assignment. Throughout the engagement, alignment between progress and expectations was actively maintained.
Result
A fully functional MVP was delivered, enabling RH Marine to generate all requested visualisations and reports for multiple completed projects. The tool supports filtering at system and room level, colour-coded status display and efficiency analysis, and has been successfully tested and validated by end users.
