Toyota Material Handling Europe is the European arm of Toyota Industries Corporation and a major player in internal transport and logistics solutions. From its Antwerp office, the organisation works towards ambitious sustainability goals in which reliable, well governed data plays a central role.

During a period of peak demand, there was not enough internal capacity to properly lead a complex data migration. That kind of assignment requires both technical precision and active stakeholder management.

The challenge
The migration needed to be complete and error free, while also improving data quality and embedding sustainable data governance principles. Without dedicated leadership, the risks included incomplete transfer, poor data quality and an approach that could not be repeated or handed over.

Blackbear's role
Blackbear helped define a clear assignment: a freelance project manager with proven data migration experience, an affinity with sustainability and the ability to align multiple stakeholders. Based on that scope, Toyota was matched with a specialist who fit both the technical and organisational requirements. Blackbear also helped keep the engagement on track and the collaboration running smoothly.

Result
The data migration was completed in full, accurately and within scope. Data quality was structurally improved through systematic cleansing and the application of sustainable governance principles. The team now works with reliable data and has a transferable framework for future migration projects.
