Building a new LIMS module within an existing architecture
A new Lab Operations Module was developed in .NET 8 and integrated into the existing LIMS environment. The module now supports day-to-day laboratory operations and has been documented and handed over to the internal team.

Peterson Control Union specialises in inspection, certification and quality assurance. Within TLR, part of the organisation, an existing Laboratory Information Management System was being expanded with a new module to support operational laboratory processes.
The challenge was not to design a new system from scratch, but to extend an existing modular architecture without disrupting the modules and workflows already in place.
The challenge
TLR needed a specialist who could independently develop a new module within the existing LIMS, translate business requirements into working functionality and operate effectively within a DevOps environment. Strong stakeholder communication was just as important as technical depth.

Blackbear helped define the technical requirements and keep the assignment focused specifically on the LPA module. A .NET specialist with experience in modular software development and DevOps practices was then matched to the project. The specialist gathered functional requirements, aligned with internal and external stakeholders and supported user acceptance testing throughout the development process.
Result
The LPA module has been fully implemented and integrated into the existing LIMS. Laboratory staff are using it in their daily work, while the developed functionality has been documented and transferred to the internal team. The resulting workflow is more reliable and faster to execute.
