Automated Power BI dashboards for maintenance monitoring
Power BI dashboards were developed for Noordgastransport and connected to the existing data lake. Maintenance KPI reporting became automated and the final setup was accepted by stakeholders.

Noordgastransport manages a large gas network and plays an important role in the Dutch energy system. The organisation already had extensive maintenance data available in its data lake, but turning that data into practical steering information was still a gap.
That meant visibility lagged behind the data itself. Reports were still being built manually, which made it difficult to keep a continuous view of the KPIs that matter most for day to day maintenance performance.
The challenge
The goal was clear: build Power BI dashboards that draw directly from the existing data lake, update automatically and fit the maintenance team’s processes and KPI needs. At the same time, the work had to stay within the current data setup rather than expand into system changes or new source creation.

Blackbear helped frame the assignment tightly at the start. The scope stayed focused on dashboard development within the existing infrastructure, which kept the work practical and prevented scope drift. From there, the trajectory centred on stakeholder sessions, KPI prioritisation, iterative dashboard development and a final delivery that could be reviewed and approved by the users themselves.
Result
Noordgastransport now has Power BI dashboards that refresh automatically from the data lake and display the agreed maintenance KPIs without manual reporting work. The dashboards were accepted by stakeholders and delivered with concrete recommendations for next steps, giving the team a solid base to build on.
