Approach
Lean Optimisation
Holland Colours is a specialist manufacturer of colour pigments for the plastics industry. With a clear focus on quality and client satisfaction, the company continuously works to strengthen the reliability of its production operations. Over time, the ambition grew not just to monitor processes, but to improve them in a structural and measurable way.
That kind of improvement requires a specific combination of analytical rigour and operational pragmatism, someone who can hit the ground running without extensive onboarding.
The challenge
Holland Colours set out to make at least two production processes measurably more efficient, with less waste and fewer rejects. This called for a process engineer with hands-on experience in the chemicals or plastics sector, a solid grasp of lean methodologies, and the ability to drive change independently within a production environment.
Blackbear's role
Blackbear worked with Holland Colours to sharpen the brief: clarifying scope, defining the right profile, and establishing what a successful outcome would look like. A specialist was selected with a proven track record in process optimisation within comparable industrial settings. Throughout the engagement, Blackbear monitored progress and ensured the work remained aligned with what Holland Colours actually needed.
Result
Multiple production processes were analysed and improved, with demonstrable results across throughput times, reject rates and material efficiency. Production teams were guided through the new ways of working, and management received regular progress reports detailing impact and next steps. The engagement left Holland Colours with a solid foundation for ongoing continuous improvement.
