AmbaFlex designs and manufactures advanced spiral conveyor systems, serving clients across the globe from a strong technological base. To accelerate its commercial offering, the company had been developing a Configure Price Quote tool, a web-based platform allowing customers and account managers to independently configure products and generate quotes.
The technical foundation was sound, but usability is a discipline of its own. For a tool intended for external users, the difference between adoption and abandonment often comes down to that first interaction.
The challenge
AmbaFlex lacked the in-house expertise to critically assess the UI/UX of the CPQ platform from a user-centred perspective. An objective external review was needed to surface usability issues and translate them into actionable improvements ahead of the planned rollout.
Blackbear's role
The scope was defined as a focused expert review: a specialist with demonstrable experience in service design and React-based web environments. Blackbear identified and connected AmbaFlex with a professional capable of covering the full breadth of the brief, from heuristic analysis and workflow critique to facilitating user feedback sessions and visualising improvement concepts. The engagement was structured as a fixed-price delivery with a clear endpoint aligned to the client's Q1 planning.
Result
The specialist delivered a structured report containing prioritised findings, evidence-based recommendations, and annotated wireframes to illustrate key suggestions. AmbaFlex now has a concrete roadmap for making its CPQ platform more intuitive and scalable, ready to inform development decisions in time for the intended launch.
